Abstract

ThisresearchaimstoidentifytheleadershipstyleofKyaiinmonitoring the quality of education at Ma'had Al-Jami'ah UINMaulanaMalikIbrahimMalang,aswellasthestrategicstepsofkiaiinimprovingthequalityoftheMa'hadAl-Jami'ahinstitution.Thisresearchisqualitativeresearchtypeusingdescriptive-analytic method. This research was conducted atMa'hadal-Jami'ah UIN Malang. The primary sources are Kyai,Murabby,Musyrif,Mu'allim,andMahasantriMa'hadal-Jami'ah UIN Maliki Malang. And secondary sources are books,dissertations,theses,journals,articles,andotherrelatedsources. with research. Then the data collection technique usesdocument review, in-depth interviews, and observation. Theresults of this research concluded that the leadership style ofkiaiinMa'hadal-Jami'ahUINMalangusedtheTransformasional leadership style. This can be seen from hischarismatic figure and his capability for being a role model(uswah) in making any decisions (Idealized Influence), he alsoveryinspiringandalwaysmotivatingalltheacademiccommunity ofMa’hadal-Jami'ah (inspirationalmotivation),encouraging musyrif/ah, Murabbi/ah to always do innovation(Intellectualstimulation),Healwayslistenanyinputandsuggestions from the musyrif/ah, Murabbi ah (Individualizedreason). This research emphasizes the study of kiai leadershipin terms of maintaining the quality of education, This verydifferwithpreviousresearchwhichisonlydiscussaboutqualityissuesrelatedtoinstitutionaltransformasionalleadershipstudieswithouttheexistenceofcentralfigure,whichis researched by many scholars such as Ahmad Maki in histhesisunderentitled"LeadershipTransformasionalinfosteringtolerance
