Abstract
The pluralism of Islam in Indonesia has transformed into different kinds of Islamic thoughts and streams, starting from a simple textual concept into the most complicated philosophical concept and from the most radical stream into the most liberal stream. The emergence of these different thoughts and streams positively represents an innovation in the practice of religious life in Indonesia. However, comprehensive understanding and intensive dialogue concerning pluralism issues in Islam are necessarily required in order to avoid potential clashes and disputes that may result in serious conflict.
