Abstract
The traditional art of Islamic performances faded together with the art of popular music. The study found that Shalawat Gembrungan as a traditional music art still exists in modern society because they are able to adapt to its environment, in terms of: script, content, poetry, song, performance, musical instrument, integration of Javanese-Islamic cultural values, support and motivation charismatic leaders, genealogical inheritance systems, community concerns and stakeholders.
