Abstract

In areas where the world is full of uncertainty, diversity and the random, statistics that are needed. Without the help of statistics, it is not impossible to get bogged down by inappropriate conclusions (misleading conclusion). In the modern era like today, many jobs that involve data collection and analysis carried out by non-statisticians, many of those who have little knowledge of the various data collection methods are appropriate, they are also not aware of the basic assumptions underlying the methods they use, so do not can provide interpretation and reasonable conclusion from the results of their analysis. Activities related to the statistics in Indonesia has been started since the days of Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies-36 as a representative of the Dutch colony-Peraneis, Herman Willem Daendels (1808-1811) used to be able to identify and set priorities for exploiting the region, but in education, new statistics included in the primary school mathematics curriculum in 1975. Statistics education should start at primary level schools to produce and develop statistical literacy community in a professional and competent.
