Abstract

A historical fact, Indonesia people has diversity in culture, ethnicity, and religion. diversity frequently,
becomes a trigger rising the conflicts among the Indonesian community. The conflicts and other immoral
actions have occurred to become the government’s challenge to make the civilized community. Besides, the conflict’s
actor has been convinced to receive religious educational values. The problem is how the success of religious
education to internalize the religious and social values of the students. The failure or success of an individual in his
or her behavior, frequently, is merely viewed based on the aspect of the process. While the change in paradigm is
affected by the development of community itself. Therefore, the paradigm of religious education is irrelevant
to the community development need the change in order to the process of religious education is able to change
the immoral action to civilize. This article tries to identify the teaching problem of religious education, then
offers a new paradigm that is more relevant to the Indonesian people at the moment.
