Abstract
Teaching is a professional action which requires professionalism in teaching. It is commonly indicated by the involvement of the higher order thinking. One of them is represented through a lecturer’s action in giving solution on the problem found in the class through Classroom Action Research. It is worthy to introduce students as the candidates of professional teachers. Having good knowledge on PTK provides them to solve their problems in doing their job in the future. A lots of research on Classroom Action Research have been reported by English education students of STAIN Ponorogo but misconception on this genre are frequently found on their report. In this article, the writer clarifies; (1) the essence of Classroom Action Reseach concepts, and (2) misconception on this kind of research by providing data drawn from six theses. Each of the theses is explored based on the concepts of Classroom Action Research. The exploration is focused on ten prior components of Classroom Action Research. This article describes the general mistakes on Classroom Action Research found in six theses of English education at STAIN Ponorogo. The mistakes on these theses caused by the lack of knowledge on Classroom Action Research.
